Jams is homeschooled by his eccentric writer father while his mother works in a proper job. Jams has no real friends but one day their neighbours arrive with a monkey and ask, ‘Will you look after our hamster?’ Despite the monkey looking NOTHING like a hamster, the neighbours run away, abandoning Thimble (the monkey/hamster). Jams and his Mum love Thimble instantly, but Jams’ father doesn’t. At all. Not even a little bit.
The book is a series of wild comic adventures, at hospital, at school, at the zoo and camping, where Jams’s father takes on Thimble and ALWAYS comes off the worse (with Jams helping Thimble). Thimble is very clever and very naughty – and the best friend Jams has been waiting for.
I mentioned earlier that Thimble Monkey Superstar has been short-listed for The 2017 Lollies (the Laugh Out Loud Awards). To find out how YOU can vote for Thimble, go here.
Even more excitingly, the follow-up to Thimble Monkey Superstar is even funnier. It's called Holiday Havoc and will be out soon. You can find out more about Holiday Havoc here.
